On the following pages we have two accounts of the working life at the shipyard and both articles describe a lot about the every day life at the shipyard. They also tell how the older workers looked sceptically at the new adult apprentices and the female welders.
Both groups also caused organisational problems. The metal workers would not have anything to do with the adult apprentices and the union for the female welders and the union for the metal workers argued about how the women should be organised.
